Why Bamboo? 🤔

Happy 50th Earth Day from Faceplant Dreams! Earth Day was founded on April 22, 1970 by Senator Gaylord Nelson of Wisconsin. In a rare political alliance, he brought together Republicans and Democrats, rich and poor, urban dwellers and farmers, business and labor leaders to support Mother Earth and a new focus of respect for our environment was born.
We celebrate that respect for Gaia every day by making careful choices in the fabrics and processes we use to make your favorite cozy pajamas.
Faceplant Bamboo products are designed in Ybor City, FL, and manufactured in China. We use sustainably and organically grown bamboo and use a closed loop process, recycling 99.5% of the chemicals instead of releasing them into the environment. We meet or exceed all standards of Oeko-Tex 100 certification, an international association focused on textile safety and sustainable production. Oeko-Tex tests for known harmful substances and chemicals as well as for acidity and color fastness.
We think that’s a good start, but believe our personal responsibility runs over into areas we can’t always quantify in scientific ways, so we personally visit our production partners and require that they share our respect for both their workers and our planet and are conscientious members of their communities.
On Earth Day, we celebrate all the ways to be a conscientious member of your own community. Volunteering, recycling, donating, and the simple act of sharing love and respect for your neighbors are all ways you make our Earth better. On Earth Day and every day, we thank you for doing your part.
